Emerson, Ga. - Game Two between the Marietta Patriots and the Norcross Astros will resume on Thursday, August 2nd, at the Lakepoint Sports Complex starting at 5 p.m.
The game started on Monday, July 30th, at Marietta High School, but was suspended in the second inning due to a heavy rain shower. The rain continued through Tuesday and Wednesday, forcing the resumption to get pushed back to Thursday
Marietta still currently leads Game Two 2-0, but trails the series 1-0. The Patriots need a win to stay alive in the Sun Belt League playoffs. A Pats victory would force a third and final game which would be played immediately after the conclusion of Game Two.
With one out in the first inning, Nate Stinson singled and reached third on Brandon Grover's single the next play before an errant throw by Enrique Ferrer scored Stinson and put Grover at second base. Matthew Vaccaro then flew out to center field before Gabe Howell singled into right field to score Grover and put Marietta up 2-0.
