  • The Marietta Patriots and the Brookhaven Bucks meet for the first time since the 2018 Sunbelt Championship series. The Patriots look to avenge their loss to Brookhaven in the Sunbelt Championship.

  • The Patriots are coming off a series win versus the Atlanta Crackers. Marietta won the first two games 9-8 and 3-2, but fell 4-3 in the rubber-match.

  • Payton Eeles is currently riding a seven game hitting-streak in which he is 10-for-25 with four RBI. The rising-sophomore from Cedarville University is also ranked second in the Sunbelt with four stolen bases.

  • Ronny Piepmeier and Ryan Suppa are both tied for second in the Sunbelt with 12 strikeouts each. The Pats pitching staff also leads all teams with 87 strikeouts.

  • The Patriots battery is boosted this week by the addition of catcher Leyton Pinckney and pitcher Jared Staples. Pinckney started 14 games at Mercer last season, while Staples led the Kennesaw State Owls in appearances on the mound.

  • Collin Teegarden sparked the Pats 3-2 victory over Atlanta with a solo home run to lead off the first inning.

  • Carson Weir (1-0) made his first start of the season against Atlanta and pitched six innings, allowing only one run on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts to earn the victory.

  • Alex Watkins made his 24th career appearance with the Patriots against Norcross (June 15) to become the team's all-time leader in that category. The right-handed pitcher from Reinhardt University is also the Patriots career leader in saves, recording his seventh in the Patriots 3-2 victory over Atlanta Wednesday night.

  • The Patriots 13-3 victory over Gwinnett last week tied a team record for largest margin of victory (10) and is the first time the Pats have won via run-rule since 2017.

  • Walker Hennon hit the Sunbelt League’s first home run of the season against the Norcross Astros on March 10.

  • Ryan Whitener (1-1) picked up his first victory in relief against the Gwinnett Tides, and then recorded his first save against the Atlanta Crackers

  • The Patriots look to return to the Sunbelt Championship for a third straight season after two consecutive appearances in 2017 and 2018. The Pats dethroned the Atlanta Crackers in 2017 to capture their first Sunbelt title, but fell short against the Brookhaven Bucks in 2018.

  • Coach Gil Navarro returns for his sixth season as the head coach of the Marietta Patriots, a position he has held since their first season in 2014. Under his guidance, the Pats have reached the playoffs in all but one season.

  • The Patriots will once again play their home games at Marietta High School for the 2019 season.

Monday's game will be the 24th all-time meeting between the Marietta Patriots and the Brookhaven Bucks. Brookhaven holds a slim 11-10 lead in the all-time series. Last season, the Patriots went 5-1 against Brookhaven in the regular season, but fell to the Bucks in a two-game sweep in the Sunbelt Championship.
