Pats 2021 Schedule Revealed; Opening Day June 7

Marietta - The Marietta Patriots schedule for the 2021 season was announced Monday morning by the Sunbelt Baseball League.

Opening Day is on June 7 as Marietta will play its first game since 2019 after the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Patriots open their season on the road against their rivals, the two-time defending Sunbelt Champion Brookhaven Bucks at Oglethorpe University.

Following that game, the Patriots will face the Bucks again, this time for their home opener on June 9.

Marietta will look to reach the Sunbelt Championship series for the third time in their last four seasons. The Patriots defeated the Atlanta Crackers to capture their first Sunbelt League Championship in 2017, but fell to the Brookhaven Bucks in 2018.

Notes on the 2021 schedule:

- This will be Marietta's seventh season in team history, and first of the decade after the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

- Marietta will play each team in the Sunbelt four times.

- The 28-game slate will feature 13 home dates

- Opening Day is on June 7. The Patriots will face rival Brookhaven Bucks at Oglethorpe University that day.

- Marietta's home opener is on June 9, also against the Bucks.

- Marietta will face Sunbelt League newcomers Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots and Waleska Wild Things for the first time ever, traveling to Reinhardt University to face the Wild Things on June 14, and Golden Park in Columbus, Ga. to face the Chatt-a-Hoots on June 25.
