MARIETTA - Livingston Morris blasted his fifth home run of the season, but the Marietta Patriots (9-18) fell 9-1 to the Brookhaven Bucks (15-8) Monday night at Marietta High School.
Trailing 4-0 in the fourth, Morris blasted his line-drive solo shot over the left field wall to pull the Patriots within 4-1. His five homers this season are tied for most in the Sunbelt with Justin Russell of the Norcross Astros and Jack Connelly of the Atlanta Crackers.
After Morris' solo shot, the Bucks pulled away with two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth.
Pats starter Ryan Whitener (1-2) pitched three innings of no-hit baseball before allowing a pair of two-run homers by Noah Mendlinger and Devonte Brown in the fourth.
Bucks starter Chris Bergmoser (3-0) pitched 7.0 innings and allowed one run on five hits with five strikeouts to earn the victory. Brown finished the game with three hits, including two home runs, with three RBI.
The Patriots will play their final home game of the regular season Tuesday night against the Alpharetta Aviators. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
